Distributor of new Toyota vehicles and parts

Founded in 1969 in Houston, Texas, GST is one of the world’s largest independent distributors of Toyota vehicles and parts. GST serves all of the Toyota dealerships in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana.

We team up with Toyota Motor Sales USA and over 155 Toyota dealerships in our five-state region to meet the rising demand for Toyota vehicles and parts.

State-of-the-Art Operations – Consumer demand for Toyota vehicles and parts has led GST to expand with more technologically sophisticated facilities.

Corporate (West Houston)

Corporate associates provide support and direction to our dealers and field associates, with the goal of delivering a superior partnership to help drive the business and uphold the Toyota brand. The corporate office houses GST associates from a variety of disciplines, including field and fixed operations support, finance and accounting, IT, human resources, marketing and advertising, vehicle distribution and model line teams. We pride ourselves in the relationships that we build with our dealers, as well as our other team members.

Vehicle Processing Center (North Houston)

The GST Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) is a world class Distribution Center that distributes more than 260,000 vehicles a year to our five-state region. Our 175-acre facility is comprised of more than 400,000 sq. ft. of assembly facilities where we install value-added, dealer-requested automotive accessories and perform final make ready services. We utilize lean operating principles both in the design and execution of our processes and our focus is on delivering Toyota quality with industry leading efficiency. We employ results-driven professionals with experience in supply chain, operations, logistics and engineering.

Parts Distribution Center (Sealy)

Our Parts Distribution Center (PDC) associates and associated teams and partners distribute automotive repair parts to over 155 Toyota dealerships across our five-state region. Our PDC teams and partners directly support dealerships in our region to ensure that Toyota parts are delivered safely, damage-free and without delay to get Toyota drivers back on the road as quickly as possible. We employ results-driven professionals with experience in supply chain, distribution, operations and quality.

Field Operations (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana)

The GST field organization is comprised of highly experienced associates in sales, parts, service and retail training. Field team associates are positioned across our five-state territory, and are the face of the organization with our dealers. With an unmatched level of experience in automotive retailing, the field team provides a critical partnership in helping our dealers drive success in their businesses. We are always looking for experienced automotive professionals to join our team.

Technical Training Centers (West Houston and Dallas)

GST provides continuous technical training to Toyota dealership automotive technicians at two state-of-the-art facilities. This ensures technicians stay current in automotive technology and provide the best maintenance and repair service in the industry.

Sponsorship Properties

Toyota Center - Since opening in October 2003, Toyota Center has set a new standard for sports and entertainment, becoming one of the premier live entertainment venues in the nation. Laid over the span of six city blocks, Toyota Center is home to the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Toyota Center also plays host to the nation’s top concerts and touring shows.

Toyota Field - Morgan’s Wonderland is the World’s first ultra-accessible family theme park designed with special-needs individuals of all ages in mind and built to be enjoyed by everyone. In 2013, GST announced their partnership with the adjacent soccer complex, Toyota Field, to generate funds for Morgan’s Wonderland through the San Antonio Scorpions NASL soccer team.

Toyota Stadium - GST began a partnership with Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center in 2013. The complex boasts a 145-acre multipurpose sports and entertainment facility located in Frisco, TX, and is the home for FC Dallas MLS team. Included in the facility is the 20,500 seat state-of-the-art pro soccer stadium and 17 tournament-sized fields which draws more than 1 million visitors each year.

    Our History

    1. 1969

      In 1969, GST signed a distributor agreement with Toyota Motor Sales USA.

    2. 1972

      By 1972, the company had 35 associates and had sold 5,000 cars and trucks through 14 dealerships. GST also completed construction on its 33-acre processing site at the Port of Houston.

    3. 1979

      GST won the Triple Crown in 1979 by holding the #1 spot in import car, truck and combined import sales in the United States. By the year’s end, 65,826 total vehicles had been sold.

    4. 1986

      In 1986, GST completed and opened its Parts Distribution Center (PDC) near Sealy, Texas.

    5. 1994

      By 1994, GST broke the 100,000 mark in total vehicle sales. Having outgrown its processing center at the Port of Houston, GST opened its 80-acre Vehicle Processing Center in North Houston, which is served by both rail and transport trucks.

    6. 1998

      With vehicle sales steadily increasing, GST outsold Toyota Motor Sales USA. Inc. in import car market share in 1998.

    7. 2000

      With record sales in 2000, GST sold 11% of all Toyotas sold in the United States.

    8. 2003

      In 2003, GST recorded more than 149,000 total vehicles sold and helped name Houston’s best sports and entertainment venue – the Toyota Center. Since opening the Toyota Center has set a new standard for sports and entertainment, becoming one of the premier live entertainment venues in the nation. Laid over the span of six city blocks, Toyota Center is home to the NBA’s Houston Rockets. Toyota Center also plays host to the nation’s top concerts and touring shows.

    9. 2005

      In 2005, GST was named the #1 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 list. GST was also listed at #40 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies. By the end of the year, more than 185,000 vehicles were sold through 145 dealerships.

    10. 2006

      In 2006, GST’s Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) expanded to 150 acres and GST sold 226,960 vehicles by the year’s end. GST opened a new Dallas-area training facility that provides technical and sales training for our associates and those from the dealerships we support. In 2006, GST was listed at #45 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.

    11. 2007

      In 2007, GST was listed at #65 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.

    12. 2008

      In 2008, GST was named the #3 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 List. In 2008, GST was listed at #53 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.

    13. 2009

      In 2009, GST was named the #4 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 List. In 2009, GST was listed at #68 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.

    14. 2010

      In 2010, GST was named the #5 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 List. GST was listed at #76 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.

    15. 2011

      In 2011, GST was named the #2 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 List. GST was listed at #60 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.

    16. 2012

      In 2012, GST named Marty Collins President and General Manager. In 2012, GST was named the #1 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 List.

    17. 2013

      In 2013, GST was named the #1 privately held company in Houston by the Houston Chronicle’s Chronicle 100 List. GST was also listed in 2013 at #51 on Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies.
